Crime Blotter: Sexy pack, Batman pajamas, drunken house call and more

AURORA, July 5: He’s bringing a sexy pack.
Aurora police responded to a call of a suspicious backpack at 6:15 p.m. at Walmart, 3301 N. Tower Road. According to police, a 30-year-old man with a backpack acted suspicious when the woman he was with was caught . Police were called when security found liquids and piping in the bag. The bomb squad was called in and found the bag filled with sex toys and lubricants. The man had warrants and was arrested. The woman was issued a summons and released.

ARVADA, June 24: Caught in the act.
On June 24, a police officer saw a suspicious man wearing Batman pajama pants walking behind the Family Thrift Center, 6655 Wadsworth Blvd. The man was holding two glass vases and walking away from the donation drop and toward the officer. The man admitted to taking the items from behind the store and put them back.

DENVER, June 26: Drunken man wanders into wrong house.

A man was arrested for trespassing after wandering into a house through an unlocked door in the 2000 block of South Downing Street. The homeowner called Denver Police after he was awakened by his dogs barking. He found an intoxicated man in his dining room and told him to leave. The man left and was later arrested after falling asleep on the porch of another private residence.

LAKEWOOD, June 30: Throwing beer bottles
Managers of Club Adixion, 5255 W. Sixth Ave., contacted Lakewood police June 30 after a male patron hit a woman in the head with a beer bottle. According to bouncers, two men were thrown out of the venue for fighting with the woman. When the bouncers saw that the woman’s head was bleeding, they detained one of the men. Police found the other man nearby, identified him as the bottle thrower, and arrested him for assault.

LAKEWOOD, June 26: Hold your ground.
A resident of the 8300 block of West Virginia Avenue called police about a loud party June 26. On scene, police heard the party echoing down the street. They told the homeowner to send everyone home. He refused, saying his guests were too intoxicated to drive. The officer told them to call taxis, and the homeowner said that wasn’t fair. He was issued a citation for the noise violation.

ARVADA, June 27: Dangerously parked.

Police responded to the railroad tracks near the 5700 block of Sheridan Boulevard on June 17 for a suspicious vehicle after a man saw an abandoned, black Honda Civic sitting across the tracks. Both of the car’s front tires were flat. The officer ran the license plates and found the car belonged to a Denver woman. Police had the car towed and contacted its owner, who said she had been lost in Olde Town the night before when the car got stuck on the dirt road and “gave out.” She took a cab home.

ROXBOROUGH, July 7: “Justice is treason.”
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deputy was dispatched to the 7800 block of Rampart Way, where a man noticed someone had painted “justice is treason” in white paint on his fence, covering about a 2-by-3-foot section of the fence.

UNINCORPORATED JEFFERSON COUNTY, June 25: in Cambridge in the Foothills pool.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies went to the pool area at Cambridge in the Foothills, 12288 W. Dorado Place, unincorporated Jeffco (Littleton), where the HOA president and pool monitor said someone entered the locked and fenced pool area and threw dirt into the hot tub and a community sign into the pool. They said it was the fourth or fifth time this year the pool area had been vandalized. A surveillance camera was installed with footage that may have shown a suspect, but the monitor did not have access. Extra patrols in the area were ordered.

EVERGREEN, June 29: Decibel level of muffler “way over the limit.”
Jeffco deputies went to the 29100 block of Kinnikinnick Lane, where a woman complained about her neighbor who revved his vehicle and “ruined” the neighborhood. She spoke to the neighbor and there were words, five of which were obscene. Deputies listened to the offending muffler and claimed it to be “way over the limit.” They advised the woman to call county zoning department.

ARVADA, June 26: Dog locked in hot car.
A concerned citizen called Arvada police to the parking lot of Tea Garden, 10290 Ralston Road, after noticing three dogs locked in a brown van as the day’s temperature approached 95 degrees. Officers saw a Labrador and two Pomeranians in separate cages in the back of the van, with only one water source for one dog. A back window and the driver and passenger-side windows were partially open. The owner of the van saw police and came outside. She was issued a citation.
